Easily the most sinister church I’ve ever seen was that of Saint Nicodeme in Finistere, Brittany. From louring statuary to unidentified damp growths on the walls facing the weird sinkhole pit it occupies, it’s positively Innsmouthian.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, though I’ll grant that a human sacrifice would look more at home on this table than flowers.
